Chris Herker has been the Scoutmaster for Troop 61 for the past 3 years. "It takes some cash to run a good scouting program... and you need to budget that cash wisely." If camping every month, it is very easy for a Troop go through $500.00 a year just in fuel to travel to and from campsites. For the past 3 years, due to budget constraints, Troop 61 has not been able to attend a week long scout camp at an organized council camp. This year we are hoping to break this trend and raise enough funds for the Troop to attend Camp Tifie in the Utah National Parks Council. "My goal is to raise $2,000.00 as I run a total of 100 miles between the dates of April 1st to May 31st for these scouts to have an amazing experience at scout camp. All of the funds donated will go towards needed new equipment, transportation, and lodging for scout camp." ScouterLife will post each run as they are completed on our website. Each post will include the following; distance, duration, pace, climb, and date. In addition to sending out thank you letters for your donation, Troop 61 will mail out a receipt of your charitable donation for tax purposes.
